While the standard itself is guidance, councils almost always require it by law for planning. You likely will not get permission to build without one if trees are nearby. Following it keeps you safe from legal trouble.

Is a radon test a legal requirement?

How long does the report stay valid?

Accepted Answer

Maps change often so you should update it every two years. If you change your building design, you will need a new assessment. Local councils always want the most recent climate data.

Question 5

Accepted Answer

You can have a basic check at any time of year. However, specific animal surveys often must happen between May and September. It is best to book in early spring so you do not miss these windows.
