Question 1

What is the difference between a wet room and a walk-in shower?

Accepted Answer

A wet room floor is completely flat and waterproofed across the whole area. A walk-in shower usually has a very low tray with a small lip. Wet rooms need more work to seal the floor and walls properly.

Question 2

How long does a kitchen refit take?

Accepted Answer

Most refits take between two and four weeks. This depends on the size of the room and if you are moving walls. Your project manager will give you a specific timeline.

Question 3

Do I need a plumber or an electrician?

Accepted Answer

For mixer showers, you usually just need a plumber. Electric showers need someone who can work with both water and power. Look for a pro who is registered with a body like NICEIC or NAPIT for the electrical work.

Question 4

How long does a bathroom refit take?

Accepted Answer

A standard refit usually takes between 10 and 14 days. This gives enough time for the plumbing, electrics and tiling to be done properly. If you are moving pipes, it might take a bit longer.

Question 5

How long does a refresh take?

Accepted Answer

Most jobs finish within two to five days. It is much quicker than a full refit. The time depends on how much you change.

Question 6

Can you fix a hole in an acrylic bath?

Accepted Answer

Yes, technicians use reinforced fillers and acrylic resins to plug holes. Once polished, the area is strong and watertight again. It is much cheaper than hiring a plumber to fit a new tub.
